My approach is inter-disciplinary and cross-curricular, so lessons begin with a classroom read about the time-travel adventures of four children living in the ancient Karoo region of South Africa. This serves as an immersive and compelling introduction and springboard into the lessons, which integrate topics and skills from Natural Sciences and Technology (NST), Social Science (SS), and English Home Language (EHL). Resources include PowerPoint presentations, worksheets, assessments, and information and discussion texts, and incorporate media and information from authentic archaeological, paleontological, and scientific research.
