Resource Description

Teach learners about syllables with these picture puzzles.

Each card contains a picture of something – for example a banana – the picture is divided into parts according to the amount of syllables that make up the word – so banana will be split into 3 parts – learners can put the pictures together and break them apart as they say the word to learn about the amount of syllables in the words.

The activity includes a QR code link for a Youtube video which teaches syllables with a song.

Includes:
4 x 1 syllable words
4 x 2 syllable words
4 x 3 syllable words
4 x 4 syllable words
2 x 5 syllable words

Print the pictures onto white cardboard, laminate them and cut them on the lines into ‘syllable parts’ for learners to put together.

Also check out our Syllables Interactive PowerPoint Lesson – It works on the same concept but in a digital format for use on a computer or projector.
