Grade 12 Mathematical Literacy Lesson Plan: Data Handling – Developing Questions and Classifying & Organizing Data.

Lesson Objectives

By the end of this lesson, learners should be able to:

  1. Develop relevant questions for collecting data on national and global issues.
  2. Understand and explain the three main methods of data collection, including their advantages and disadvantages.
  3. Classify data as categorical or numerical and distinguish between discrete and continuous data.
  4. Organize data using interval tables, tally tables, and frequency tables and define each one.

This lesson aligns with the Mathematical Literacy curriculum in the CAPS document for Grade 12. The focus is on data handling, including formulating questions and gathering data, as well as classifying and organizing that data using various types of tables and methods.
