Language Reader’s Theatre Listening and Speaking Activity

Lights, Camera Action… Role-Play in English.

This is a fun and innovative way to bring role-play and acting into the English classroom.

Teachers can provide learners with a scene to rehearse and practice for the class. They can then present the scene to the class and the learners who act as the audience need to fill pre-listening and speaking questions based on prediction and post-listening and speaking questions. This can be done orally or written down on the pages provided.

While this activity is specifically for English… it can be adapted for any language.
