Resource Description
Use this fun and practical resource to encourage development of number sense and number representation through a variety of hands-on, learner-centered activities. Students can use their fingers and fingerpaint to add the correct amount of dots to the caterpillar’s body so that they match with the number alongside the caterpillar’s head! If fingerpainting is not for you, learners can simply draw enough circles to match with the corresponding number. You can even incorporate some patterns and sequencing by inviting learners to colour in their circles in a pattern with two or three colours. For longer lasting and continuous use, laminate a few print outs of the worksheet, use whiteboard markers and wipe away when finished ! I have also created two different versions of this resource to give you some variety and to avoid wondering eyes during your lesson. Voila ! These are just a few ways to use this resource in your maths lessons. Please feel free to comment on how you used this resource in your classroom !
