Draw a mandala task – Visual arts

In this task learners will be led through easy to follow steps to design and draw their own mandala.

This task tests the following art elements:

Learners must make use of different styles of line.
Symmetry will be used to create an attractive mandala.
Pattern will be used to complete the mandala as a cohesive whole.
Learners must use texture to add interest to their design.
The element of color could be added to test learners’ understanding of color theory.

This task is suitable for learners from grade 7 to 9, depending on their skill level.
