Resource Description

Are you wanting a fun way to help you learners practise building their phonics words? Or are you looking for a different, hands on way to assess whether they are able to build the “oa” and “o-e” words? I’ve got you covered. This resource includes the letters needed to build phonics words using the “oa” and “o-e” digraphs as well as a 2 page worksheet where they stick the words once they have built them. You have the option to print the version with pictures and your learners will need to match the word that they have built to the correct picture or you could give your learners the version without pictures and they will draw pictures themselves in the boxes provided. If you want to use this resource as a game instead of as a worksheet you could laminate the picture-version and use the last two pages as a “game board”. Then cut out the letters on the first page for your learners and they can simply place the letters correctly on the “game board” each time. If you would like to use it as an assessment, there are 10 words so it is an easy mark out of 10. This resource is ideal for grade 2 learners in term 4 or grade 3 learners in term 1.
