Resource Description

The “Bunny Hop” letter formation bundle was created by an occupational therapist to help children practice the letter formation, which is guided by the formation of the “bunny hop” pattern. It involves letters formed by a downward and upward movement of the pencil and starts in the same position or orientation.

To prevent letter confusion and reversals, letters must always start in the right place and be formed correctly. When children learn to form their letters in a fun, multi-sensory way, the unnecessary reversal of letters can be reduced or avoided. Proper letter formation supports better spacing of written work. This resource is often used in conjunction with the Funky Monkey letter formation program.

This bundle includes a classroom poster, animated PowerPoint presentation, a short video explanation, playdough mats, graded worksheets, perceptual and auditory activities for use in the classroom, home, or therapy.
