Resource Description

This project is designed to align with the CAPS curriculum and current Annual Teaching Plans (ATPs) for Grade 8 Mathematics. Using the 2024 Summer Olympics as an engaging and real-world scenario, learners will explore and apply their knowledge in key mathematical areas such as Geometry, Angles, Fractions, Foreign Exchange, Rates, Straight Lines Geometry, and Parallel Lines.

Objectives:

To apply mathematical concepts to real-world scenarios.
To enhance understanding of geometric shapes and properties.
To analyse and solve problems involving angles and lines.
To work with fractions and rates in practical contexts.
To understand and calculate currency exchange rates.

By the end of this project, learners will have a comprehensive understanding of how mathematics can be applied to real-world scenarios, specifically through the exciting context of the 2024 Summer Olympics.
