Christmas Word Challenge – building words, spelling and vocabulary practice

In this task, the aim is to find words inside a word. The word on the worksheet is ‘Christmas’ and there are many words that can be found within it. There are 20 lines available for the learners to write down the words they find. The letters can be used in any order and the letters can be repeated, for example, the word ‘thrash’ repeats the ‘h’ in Christmas. This activity is great for spelling practice/reinforcement as well as for encouraging perseverance as it takes some time and careful thought to come up with more and more words.
