Parts of Speech Game – prepositions, conjunctions and more

This board game is a fun way to practice parts of speech. The game includes prepositions, conjunctions, interjections, adverbs and pronouns. This resource includes the game board, sentence cards and word cards (available in lowercase and uppercase). Players throw the dice to find out what colour (part of speech) they will be working with during the game. Each player gets 10 sentence cards and they may read these immediately and place them face up in front of themselves. They then take turns to throw the dice and pick up word cards, in an attempt to find words that complete their sentences correctly. When a player finds a suitable word, they place the word card in their column on the game board. The first player to fill up their column is the winner.

Reading word cards and sentence cards aloud to their group is another benefit of this game.
