Word Mapping with cvc letters
R34.50
Resource Description
Research has shown that children without a thorough knowledge of sounds (phonemes) and letters (graphemes), they will struggle to learn to read. This blending and decoding activity introduces mapping, whereby sounds, previously learnt are mapped onto letters. This is known as phonological awareness.
This activity can be done during a phonics lesson or at the beginning of a reading lesson. It is suitable for individuals in a remedial setting or small group work. Please ensure that time has been spent on phonemic awareness before letters are introduced. They are a number of examples in the Teacha! shop that the children will enjoy.
