Resource Description

This worksheet can be used interchangeably for vocabulary building or revision of Synonyms, Antonyms and how to apply these within sentences (or within any given context). It offers extended editing / self-editing / peer editing activities, which can be used across most grades. Children do a follow-up lesson where they write their sentences on the board (after having completed a homework task of composing sentences with each synonym and antonym), and then the entire class edits the sentences together so that nobody feels like they’re being singled out and everyone gets a chance to see how they make mistakes and how to fix them. In turn, this gives the teacher an overall view (for instance, where the same mistake appears across the entire class and nobody understands it) that the teacher can see at a glance where the intellectual needs lie (for follow-up lessons).
