There are 2 ways to spell the consonant ‘H’ sound: -H as in ‘house’ and -WH as in ‘while’. To make matters a little trickier, words spelt with -WH can have a /H/ sound (as in ‘whole’) or a /W/ sound (as in ‘whale’).
