Resource Description

This 14-page resource sets out to conquer the confusion surrounding the spelling of words with the /H/ sound. There are 2 ways to spell the consonant ‘H’ sound: -H as in ‘house’ and -WH as in ‘while’. To make matters a little trickier, words spelt with -WH can have a /H/ sound (as in ‘whole’) or a /W/ sound (as in ‘whale’).

This comprehensive product guides students from the very beginning by addressing the pronunciation of /H/ spelt words.  This is followed by a myriad of activities designed to engage young learners and facilitate retention and recall. These activities include:

Word Fill worksheets, Fill the Gap sentences, Fill the Gap paragraphs, a fun quiz and cut-out cards (great for revision!).

The resource is suitable for students from grades 1 to 3, ESL and home-schooling.

Wishing our students the freedom to boldly spell all /H/ sound words correctly in the future!
