Reading Rubrics

This resource includes a selection of different reading rubrics to suit your specific needs. There are rubrics with a 3 point scale – excellent, competent and not yet competent and others with a 4 point scale – excellent, good, satisfactory and weak. Each of these include different options, such as, rubrics for individual learners (a once-off assessment; or space for 5 assessments or 10 assessments recorded on different dates. There is also one with space to record your whole class’s results on one page/two pages (depending how many learners in your class). Some of the rubrics have slightly different criteria. Some of the criteria include – decoding, pronunciation, comprehension, fluency and effective use of picture cues. There is space for the learner’s name and class and also for general comments that can be recorded on lines before the rubric.
