R17.25

Resource Description

This is a 2 part, quite extensive Gr12 assignment which assesses student ability to think critically about they have learned in the Human Evolution Strand of Biology (term 3: CAPS Biology). Part 1 involves 3 questions and tests whether students can evaluate how humans adapt their environment so efficiently. Part 2 (can be done in groups of 2 or solo although the document instructs for the student to do it in a group of 2) requires students to create a timeline, construct a poster and answer several questions based on the discovery of Austrolopithecus sediba by archaeologist Lee Berger. An article on the discovery of sediba is included. I have not allocated marks to each question but have included a memorandum of correct answers – you can simply add how much you want each question to be worth.
