Resource Description

This report card covers everything a Grade R learner must be able to do in Term 4 to be able to go over to Grade 1 in the following year.

The following areas are tested in the school readiness test:

  • Synthesis activities
  • Puzzles (12 piece and 24 piece)
  • Dotty board (Learners must be able to copy over any pattern from the pattern on the left to the dots on the right)
  • Auditory language development (Short term memory, sequence, Closure, association, figure ground, sound recognition)
  • Body image drawn
  • Body imagine – Tell/show
  • Colour recognition
  • Static balance
  • Balancing on the balancing beam
  • Gross motor control
  • Directionality
  • Midline crossing and many more.

Don’t stress if the pages don’t look like they follow on each other when you open up the document. When you print it out, it folds  perfectly into a little booklet with the numbers of the pages following on one another.
