Task 1 = Energy and change

Focus: Investigating different forms of energy and their transformations (60 marks)

Students will explore the concept of energy, particularly how energy can be transferred and transformed from one form to another. This practical task will involve simple experiments to observe and record different types of energy and their transformations.

Task 2 = Comparing energy from various packaging for foods and fuels (60 marks)

In this task students will explore the concept of energy and change by investigating different fuels and their energy outputs. They will compare the energy obtained from various packaging materials used for foods and examine the energy produced by different fuels. Students will also conduct an experiment to determine how long a candle burns under different conditions and conclude by writing and drawing about fire safety in their communities.
