This document consists of four sections:

1. A reading passage and questions based on Barrett’s taxonomy. [25]

2. An advertisement and cartoon and visual literacy questions based on Barrett’s taxonomy. [15]

3. A passage that need to be summarised in no more than 60 words. [10]

4. Language questions. [20]

(Truncation, Acronym, Initialism, Portmaneau, give the correct form of the word in brackets, phrases, clauses, negatives, parts of speech, derivatives, active and passive voice, conjunctions, pronouns, prefix, concord, apostrophe, direct and indirect speech, finite verb, non-finite verb.

Both the reading passage and the summary passage are the length as required by CAPS for examination purposes.
