Resource Description

Many children battle with basic Afrikaans words, and it can be tricky to motivate them to increase / improve their Afrikaans vocabulary.

Playing a game of BINGO is a fun way to get learners to translate English into Afrikaans.

Instructions:

Teacher calls out the English translation of a word, and learners find the Afrikaans version of that word on their individualised BINGO card, drawing an “X” over that word.

For example:

Teacher: Chair (Calls out)

Learner: (X over the word, “Stoel”)

– 30 werkwoorde BINGO cards,

– 30 selfstandige naamwoorde BINGO cards

Nice idea: Use for Afrikaans extra lessons
