Resource Description
How quickly can you say:
Which wristwatches are Swiss wristwatches? – Without getting completely tongue-tied?
Alliteration is such a fun concept to teach children. They are surrounded by examples of alliteration in adverts and stories and can easily grasp the concept.
Learners will use their imaginations to create their very own alliterative restaurant. They will need to give their restaurant an alliterative name, such as, “Clever Creations”, and they will be creating a menu with items that start with the same sound.
Be sure to emphasize that some ingredients may begin with the same letter, but not necessarily the same SOUND. Eg: “Ginger Gravy” – The repeated “G” does not contain alliteration, because the sound of the “G” differs.
Enjoy!
